Olympos saffron (Endemic to Antalya Province)
The corm tunic of the Olimpos saffron is semi-leathery, and the number of leaves that are present during the flowering period is about five. The throat of perianth is yellow in colour and glabrous. The perianth segments have almost equal lengths, lilac-blue colour with dark veins. Filaments are filiform; anthers are blackish-maroon before dehiscence. The style has been divided into 3 long branches which are bright red in colour. The flowering period of the species is October and November. They can be distributed on crevices of limestone rocks as well as under pine forests and their clearances, at altitudes of up to 1400 m.
