Rose daisy (Endemic to Mediterranean Region)

The inflorescence of some species of the genus Anthemis, are used for treatment purposes and as dye under the name of Chamomille. Daisies are also used for landscaping purposes (Baytop, 1999). It is a decorative plant that is liked by gardeners due to its long lasting flowers. The Rose daisy that gets its scientific name from its pink coloured flowers, flowers in the spring. It grows in the Mediterranean Region, in forests, limestone rocks and slopes at altitudes of up to about 1700 m. The species that is widely distributed in Antalya is the harbinger of the beauty and warmth of spring with its colour that contains all hues of pink. Its life cycle is one year and it can reach heights of up to 20 cm. Its stem is simple or branched from the base. Tubular flowers are yellow coloured on the interior of the capitula, whereas the ligules on the outside are pinkish and about 10-15.
